Frank A. Silva, 87, of Mount Vernon, Oregon passed away March 15, 2018, at his home in Mount Vernon. A memorial service for Frank will be held in Hollister, California, with date and time to be announced.
Frank was born November 17, 1930, to Frank R. and Flora Silva (Huckaba) in Oxnard, California. Frank served 4 years as a deep sea diver and machinist in the United States Navy, aboard the USS Grapple ARS-7. Frank was very proud of his Navy service and had a great love for his country. After his military service, Frank worked for many years as a farmer, both in California and Oregon. Frank loved to work. Frank was married to Mary “Jane” Silva (DaRoza) on September 1, 1957, in Hollister, California.
Frank was a member of John Day Elks Lodge #1824, as well as a parishioner of Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church in John Day, Oregon. Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing and working. He also loved visiting with people.
Frank is preceded in death by his father, Frank R Silva, and mother, Flora Silva
Frank is survived by his wife, Mary “Jane” Silva of Mount Vernon, Oregon; son, Tim Silva and wife Raelene of Hollister, California; son, Steven Silva of Mount Vernon, Oregon; daughter, Patti Silva of Hollister, California; and 2 grandchildren.
