Melva Heckman, 80, of Canyon City, Oregon passed away on December 14, 2018, at St. Alphonsus Medical Center in Boise, Idaho. A funeral service will be held at Driskill Memorial Chapel on Friday, December 21, 2018, at 1:00 PM with the interment at Canyon City Cemetery.
Melva was born to Andrew and Florens (Marks) Brown on December 3, 1938, in Patton Township, Pennsylvania. She attended high school in Wilmerding, Pennsylvania. Melva married Nelson E. Heckman on February 23, 1957 in Winchester, Virginia. Together they had four children. Melva went on to get her CNA license and worked from 1984 to the year 2000 when she retired from the Blue Mountain Hospital in John Day, Oregon. She was very proud to have been a CNA for 24 years.
Melva enjoyed the outdoors, camping with her family and bowling.
She was preceded in death by her late son, Jeffery A. Heckman.
Survivors include her husband, Nelson E. Heckman of Canyon City, Oregon; daughter Cynthia (Joe) Falkenhagen of Vancouver, Washington; daughter Kimberly (Thomas) Crumley of La Pine, Oregon; son Nelson Lee Heckman of San Jose, California; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
