Nathan Gene Maloy, 21, of Prairie City died Saturday, November 9, 2019. A private vault interment was held on Thursday, November 14, 2019, at the Canyon City Cemetery in Canyon City, Oregon. A memorial service will be held Monday, November 18, 2019, at 1:00 PM at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship in John Day, Oregon with Pastor Levi Manitsas officiating.
On April 21, 1998, Talia Christine (Babcock) Gilliam and Rusty Gene Maloy welcomed Nathan into the world. Nathan attended high school at Prairie City High School; graduating in 2017. While attending high school, Nathan participated in football, track, and basketball. He was employed as an office worker and housekeeper for three years. Nathan enjoyed hunting, video games and spending time with his family.
Nathan is survived by his mother Talia Gilliam of Prairie City; father Russ Maloy of Baker City; step-father Hal Gilliam of Prairie City; step-mother Chris Wiegand of Baker City; brothers and sisters, Raven Maloy of Prairie City, Chloe Harris of Tillamook, Matthew Maloy of Baker City, Feather Wilcher of Baker City, Dion Wilcher Jr. of Baker City, and Megan Workman of Austin. Nathan is also survived by his grandmother Sharon Maloy of Baker City, and grandparents Ray Stegman and Debbie Stegman of Tillamook and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather Delmer Gene Maloy, grandfather Bill Babcock Sr., and his brother Taner Gilliam.
