Janice Justice

Janice passed away on March 7, 2026, at the Blue Mountain Hospital, surrounded by members of her immediate family.

A Memorial Service for Janice will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 1:00 PM PDT at the Canyon City Community Hall, 131 Washington St, Canyon City, Oregon. A reception will follow the service.

She was born on August 10, 1938, to Grover and Edith Good in Ontario, Oregon, at the farmhouse on the family farm. She was the youngest of seven children with brothers and one sister. She graduated from Ontario High School in 1956.

Janice met her husband, Edwin 'Red' Justice, while working at the Justice Ranch, working for his parents, Max and Effie Justice, located in Fox Valley, Oregon. Janice and Red were married on June 1, 1956, in Vale, Oregon. Together, they raised four children, Jeri, Jeanine, Donald, and Kenneth.

She worked as a museum curator for the Herman and Eliza Historical Museum from 1969 to 1982, and the Malheur National Forest, working in heritage at the Forest Supervisor's Office in John Day, retiring in 2000 with fourteen years of service.

Janice enjoyed gardening, reading, history, horses, and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow and learn.

Her surviving family includes her daughters and their spouses, Jeri (Justice) and Dan Young, Jeanine (Justice) and Ron Morgan, sons and their spouses, Donald and Janet Justice, Kenneth, and Julia Justice. In addition, she leaves behind seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law, Angie Good; her brother-in-law, Ray Justice; and his wife, Kay; along with many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Janice in death are her husband, Red Justice; parents, Grover and Edith Good; brothers, Robert, Donald, Elton, Merle, Frank; and sister, Roma Hines, along with other members of the Good and Justice families.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Carrie Young Memorial in Janice’s honor through Driskill Memorial Chapel at 241 S. Canyon Blvd., John Day, Oregon 97845. Driskill Memorial Chapel is assisting the family.
