Jim Clark, beloved by family and friends, passed away in his home on July 25th, at 81 years of age. Born in Eureka, California, he grew up in Petrolia, California before moving to Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where he finished his high school years. It is here that he met his sweetheart, Colleen, and eventually married, spending over 60 years together.
He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1960 and spent four years in the Pacific preparing for the Vietnam War. He was a patriot who exemplified "Semper Fidelis". Jim was cowboy at heart and said that he wanted only two things in life... a ranch and a family. He accomplished both.
Jim his wife and daughters moved to Oregon in 1973. He continued his occupation as a lineman throughout the years until he retired, and was the able to ranch full-time. His lineman career gave him the opportunity to serve the community, and that gave him job satisfaction.
A man of true grit, he leaves his legacy within his daughters Karen (Matias) Clark and Deanna "Guppy" Clark; grandson, Enzo Trejo De Dios, and wife, Colleen Clark. A Celebration of his Life with Marine Corps Honors ceremony will be held on Saturday, August 26th, 2023 at Clyde Holliday State Park at 11:00 AM, with a reception following at the John Day Elks Lodge.
Memorial contributions in his honor can be made to the Tunnels to Towers through Driskill Memorial Chapel, 241 S. Canyon Blvd., John Day, OR 97845.
