Kenneth David Round

Kenneth David Round, age 78, of Dayville passed away June 15, 2023, at his residence. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 30th, 2023, at the Dayville Cemetery at 11:00 am with Pastor Skipp Inscore officiating. There will be a potluck reception at the Dayville Community Church following the service.

Dave was born October 19, 1944, in Prairie City, Oregon to Kenneth and Margie (Coffin) Round. He graduated from Dayville High School and enlisted in the Army right after graduating, serving overseas in Germany. After being honorably discharged he returned to Grant County and began his logging career, which lasted fifty years.

He married Bev Pierson on July 10, 1966, and together they had two children. They divorced nine years later. He then was married two more times, gaining one more child.

Dave had a love for rodeo, he judged the Grant County Rodeo for many years and was a participant in his early 20s.  Along with his love for rodeo Dave enjoyed watching his great niece and nephew play sports in Dayville. Dave was a friend to everyone and will greatly be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Margie Round; brother, Denny Round; sister, Diane Haefer.

Survivors include his daughter, Cammi (Bill) Copenhaver of John Day, OR; daughter, Sheri (Dan) Volk of Elgin, OR; son, Michael (Sherri) Round of Pendleton, OR. eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
