Sharon Louise Kimberling

Sharon Louise Kimbering, age 76, of Prairie City passed away February 23, 2023. A graveside memorial service will be held March 10, 2023, at the Prairie City Cemetery starting at 11:30 AM with a reception at the Prairie City Senior Center immediately following the service.

Sharon was born on May 12, 1946, in The Dalles, Oregon to Kenneth and Edna (Parrish) Rettie. She graduated from Grant Union High School in John Day and attended one year of college at Eastern Oregon University.

She married Roger Gentry Kimberling on June 26, 1965, in John Day, Oregon, and together they welcomed two children. Sharon and Roger owned and operated Roger’s Market in Prairie City, Oregon for twenty-five years and enjoyed contributing to their local community, 4-H, FFA, and sports teams. She loved her community, friends, and family first and foremost.

She enjoyed reading and looked forward to lunch or coffee dates with her high school class of “1964”. Sharon was also a member of the John Day Elks Lodge #1824.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Roger of thirty-five years, who passed away October 22, 2000. Her parents, Kenneth, and Edna Rettie; sister, Colleen Leuck.

Survivors include son, Kevin Kimberling of Prairie City, OR; daughter, Brenda (John Kehrberg of Willis, TX; grandsons, Joshua Kehrberg of Portland, OR; Corbin Kehrberg of New York, NY.

Memorial contributions in her honor cand be made to Blue Mountain Hospice through Driskill Memorial Chapel at 241 S. Canyon Blvd,. John Day, OR 97845.
